Lere Fashola

Lere Fashola is an energy lawyer, legal tech enthusiast, serial entrepreneur, educator, and publisher. He is the founder of the African Law, Technology, and Business School and the CEO of ESQ Trainings Limited, a learning and development firm through which, in the last ten years, he has organized and/or facilitated practical qualitative continuing legal education in Nigeria. Under his leadership, ESQ Trainings Limited established itself as a premier provider of legal training and development programs, offering courses and seminars on a wide range of legal topics, including corporate law, litigation, arbitration, and intellectual property.

The company has trained thousands of legal practitioners, corporate counsel, and other professionals across Africa. In addition to his work with ESQ Trainings Limited, Lere is also the publisher of ESQ Legal Practice Magazine and the organizer of the Nigerian Legal Awards.   Fashola is involved in various professional and social organizations. 

He is a Charter Member of the Lion’s Club International and has at various times served as the Secretary and later President of the Ikeja De’ Renaissance Lion’s Club, a Diaspora Club of the Lions Club International with members in over 13 countries. He served as a trustee and board member of several non-profit organizations in Nigeria. 

He is a devout Christian and currently serves as Legal Secretary/Adviser to the Lord Bishop of Osun North Anglican Diocese and Archbishop of the Ibadan Province of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. He is an accredited mentor with the Tony Elumelu Foundation and a committed member of Fountain of Hope International. With his entrepreneurial spirit, visionary leadership, and commitment to excellence, Lere Fashola has become an influential figure in the legal profession and beyond, inspiring others to pursue their goals and positively impact society.   

Furthermore, Mr. Fashola is a thought leader in the legal profession, regularly speaking at conferences and events on topics related to legal practice, entrepreneurship, future legal education, legal technology, and leadership. He has authored several articles on legal practice and business management, which have been published in prominent legal publications and other media outlets. As a passionate advocate for the development of the legal profession in Nigeria, Mr. Fashola is actively involved in various initiatives aimed at improving the quality of legal education and practice in the country. He has supported numerous programs and activities focused on promoting access to justice, enhancing the skills of legal practitioners, and promoting ethical standards in the profession.   

Through his various initiatives and activities, Lere Fashola has become a respected leader and role model in the legal profession and beyond. His commitment to excellence, innovation, and social impact has earned him numerous accolades and awards.   Fashola holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ibadan and was called to the Nigerian Bar in May 2007 after the mandatory one-year programme at the Nigerian Law School. 

He is an alumnus of the International Law Institute, Washington, DC. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Nigerian Gas Association. He is the organizer of the Nigerian Legal Awards. He is also a director at Alausa Hotel and Properties Limited and co-founder of Flex Point Energy Solutions, a renewable energy startup.   

He served as a co-opted member of the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (2018–2020) and is currently a member of the CLE Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch (2021–2023) and a member of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch Law Week 2023.
